Local Notes: Peggy Ludwick is the daughter of Arthur Lee Ludwick, Jr. MD, a KU grad (BS, 1934, MD, 1936). During Ludwick’s career, he studied under Arthur Hertzler, won the Silver Star in combat during World War II, and practiced medicine in Washington State. His father, Arthur Lee Ludwick, Sr., MD, received his degree from the University Medical College, Kansas City, MO, in 1894. Ludwick senior practiced ‘psychiatry’ for a number of years and treated shell-shocked aviators during World War I. Information about both physicians are in the library vertical files, with additional information in the KUMC Archives. More information and personal artifacts are at the Center for the History of Family Medicine at the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation, Leawood, KS.
